Just a couple of weeks ago, we were all sorted into our houses. I was surprised to see that most kids didn’t know a single thing about their house. It may seem insignificant, but there’s more to our house system than just six colors.

Each house represents a different principle. For example, Isibindi, the greenhouse, is known for its courage and bravery. Then Altruismo, the black house, is the house of givers. The red house, Amistad, is the house of friendship, and about using it to grow into a better person. The blue house, Revuer, is the house of dreamers. The yellow house, is Sollevare, a house of upliftment and creativity. Lastly is Nukumori, the purple house. They are the house of kindness. Each house also has its very own unique hand-signal, crest, animal, plant, heritage, and chant. Every time you commit an outstanding act, you can get your house points. They’re tallied at the end of the quarter and the winning house is the one with the most points. Who will win this quarter? We’ll all find out pretty soon.
