On Saturday, November 11, National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) members came to WLMS to help clean up.
The students and leaders, Mrs. Funicelli and Mrs. Sullivan were sick of seeing so much trash around the school. They came in at 9 am with gloves and trash bags ready to clean up. They went from the very front all the way to the West Loop and were astonished by how much trash needed to be picked up.Â
NJHS president, Sonny Sharmin, sent out an email to teachers about limiting candy hand-outs. All though many students love getting candy from teachers for doing something good, many students don’t put the wrappers in the trash.Â
So, members would greatly appreciate if students could put their trash in the trash bins and not on the ground. We need to help keep our school a clean and safe learning environment.
