People always think that “Contact sports like football are dangerous; you get concussions and torn muscles!” Well, it is the complete opposite. My old teacher Mr. Brandine said, “My son got more bruises and injuries from flag football rather than tackle.” This is because kids are always going for the flag and might tackle the child or step on them and maybe even hit them. When tackle there are specific ways to tackle someone and there are penalties and nobody wants to get one of those! For a little bit of context, I have been playing lacrosse for about 4-5 months. And I LOVE IT. But whenever I tell someone they are like “Oh my God! You play that sport where they hit each other with the sticks!  Are you ok? Let me see your back!” Well, the last part was a little bit exaggerated but the other parts were completely true. But they are also false.

In these sports people wear pads and helmets so the only thing that happens when you get hit, slashed, and bumped into (hardly) it leaves a really tiny bruise or it just stings a little and goes away. And before you ask, yes getting hit with the ball stings. A LOT but the stinging goes away after a few minutes and then it leaves a tiny bruise. I got hit in the leg with a ball before and- I am getting off track. Anyway! There are also many other sports people think down on. Football, Lacrosse, Hockey and Roller Hockey. All the same, pads, penalties and just tiny bruises. The worst injury I have ever gotten was a really bloody scratch. Imagine this, I was lining up to do a 1v1 ground ball [The coach throws the ball and then whoever can get it first is on offense and whoever doesn’t get it is on defense. Then the offensive player has to get the ball to the coach. But the defensive player is playing a heavy guard on he or she.] I was lining up right next to the guy I was going up against then it happened. The ball goes on my right then he runs and scratches his cleats up against my leg. And I wasn’t wearing socks that day. Blood everywhere. When I got home my mom poured some alcohol on it and then I went in the shower. And now I have a pretty cool scar on my left ankle. Right above my Achilles Tendon. I almost could not bend my leg. I still played that day though then I rubbed some blood on my enemy. And he did not even notice!

Well, in my opinion, these are all great sports and you should check out all of them [but mostly lacrosse ;)] But these sports are pretty expensive so make sure you have some pocket change saved up 💰! These sports are also very fun to watch like soccer are football! Remember, the most you will get is a bruise, not a freaking broken head and 2 broken arms.
