It all started five years ago when a new girl came to school. Everyone said that she and I had a lot in common, I didn’t think so. I was hesitant to talk to her until I realized that since she was new, she probably wanted to make new friends and that it would make her day if someone new said “hello”. Once I said hello, it was a huge relief that I had finally said it. We started talking more and more and got to know each other. We soon became best friends and I realized that we really did have a lot in common and that I was just scared of making a new friend when in reality it would lead to a very good thing. Even five years later we are still as close as we were or even closer, and like any other friendship we’ve had our ups and downs and it just shows that we constantly stick by each other. I still can’t believe that I was so nervous to say “hello” to someone new, but I am very grateful that I did because it led me to meet someone who is very important in my life.
