Poem: 2020 Was Not Our Year
January 27, 2021
As fire tore through forests with ease,
The animal’s last words were “please”
2020 was not our year
Volcanoes erupted all around,
Thousands of people leave their town
2020 was not our year
While our leader was impeached without a doubt,
Our entire world is wearing masks all about
2020 was not our year
A black man lied on the ground screaming, “I CAN’T BREATHE”
Cities were torn apart by the vigilantes with ease
2020 was not our year
Murderous bugs are flying,
Celebrities are dying,
A whole wave of Covid-19 is back again?
When will it end?
2020 was not our year
