A lot of people enjoy Valentine’s day, it is a way to convey our gratitude and love towards another, but a lot of people don’t know the history of Valentine’s day.  

Valentine’s Day used to be a minor Christian holiday it was celebrated in the year 496. The Romans celebrated it because it was the passing of winter and the dawn of spring a time for joy. In addition to the marking of spring, it also marks the death of Saint Valentine.

Valentine was actually a priest. Saint Valentine was not actually Roman, he was Italian and was part of western Christianity. He was one of two men that was executed in the Roman Empire. He became popular because a lot of people liked him.
