Secrets In Popular Video Games

Sebastian Martinez, Reporter

Video games are fun to play, there’s no doubt about it! One thing more fun than just playing has to be finding the small secrets and references hidden in them. I’ve grabbed a few of them to share.

In Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, there is a secret room accessible only via glitching the game. The room has a plaque with Chris Houlihan’s name on it. Chris Houlihan won a contest seeing which fan would get their name included in, at the time, an unknown NES Game.

In Super Smash Bros Melee, there was a way to play as the Master Hand boss by completing another glitch in the game.

In Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out, there are a few visual cues to help you make that one-hit K.O. In the fights against Bald Bull, there is a man with a camera that snaps a picture right before you need to swing to knock him out.
