We paid one of our campus’s new ELA teachers a visit, and learned a lot about her! For Mrs. Heidrich, teaching is no less than “the best accident [she has] ever made!”

Q: What are some of your personal hobbies?

A: I’m a self-proclaimed “workaholic”, but in the occasional spare moment, I enjoy swimming, hiking, and taking long walks on the beach.

Q: Something about your background or childhood?

A: I was born and raised on Long Island, New York- a surfer!

Q: Tell us something about your family now.

A: I am married with two kids- Rita, 17 and Bradford, 25. 

Q: Why did you decide to become a teacher?

A: For me, teaching was accidental.  And, it’s the best accident I’ve ever made! 

Q: What is your favorite part about teaching an in-person class?

A: This is my twenty-first year teaching in Palm Beach County.  Previously, I was a 5th grade teacher for Meadow Park Elementary School in West Palm Beach.

Q: Have you taught before this? If so, where?

Q: What led you to choose Wellington Landings?

A: The move to Wellington Landings provides me with an exciting new challenge while getting me closer to home.

Q: What do you think is the most important thing when interacting with kids?

A: I think teaching is the single most important job.  We are helping create the future.
