School Lunches Should Always Be Free

School lunch

School lunches take a lot of effort to make, imagine making a meal for over 1,000 starving kids. Kids complain about school lunch all the time (that sometimes includes me sometimes) but by lunchtime, lunch seems so delicious. Up until last year, school lunches cost money, but sometimes kids’ parents don’t have enough money to pay for every lunch of the year. Since the economy plunged down absurdly because of Covid, the district has been very generous to making lunch free for students, but after covid, what will happen? Some families still won’t have money or will be impacted by the mini depression and will still not be able to pay for their kids’ lunches. And you can’t expect a growing child to not eat for 7 hours. Kids need to eat, and just because they won’t have money in the future doesn’t mean they have to miss lunch later on.
