On the 14th of April 2022, the Russian warship, “Moskva ” sank, being struck by Ukrainian missiles with one confirmed death and 27 missings, it is also the largest ship to sink after WW2. “Moskva” was the leading warship on the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the effect this caused is enormous.

An effect of the sinking is that morale in Ukraine has increased because of this. That can improve military performance and can be the difference between a battle that was lost, and a battle that was won.

The most important effect is that it heavily embarrassed the Russian military and more specifically the Russian navy, now their army looks weaker because of this. This can open an opportunity for Ukraine to push back more confidently.
