The initial ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law further blocked the topic of sexual orientation and gender identification from being spoken in classrooms from grades K-3, expanding to 12th grade.

Governor Ron Desantis requests the proposal last month for the law to take effect in the next month.

The law creates a negative vision for future education in the state of Florida. Teachers and students are impacted and restrained to books and lessons that do not speak of any identification related to the LGBTQ.

Due to the law extending to middle and high school, clubs will be required to be taken down from schools.

The statute prohibits discussing the subject of sexual orientation and gender identification for what is considered by Governor Ron Desantis and his administration to what is not “age-suitable” or “necessary” for discussion.
