Amur tigers are a rare species of tiger there are only 400-500 left in the world, and even fewer if we don’t do anything to protect our world and its inhabitants. These amazing tigers are put in danger because of habitat loss and poaching of these tigers and their prey causing them to become one of the most endangered animals.
Thankfully, in Apple Valley, Minnesota Zoo, good people find and rescue a pair of Amur cubs and their mother named Dari from the harsh life of the forest. These tigers are known as Andrei and Amelia.
Zoologists are helping bring back the Amur tiger species by using a plan called the “Tiger Species Survival Plan” a program to try and bring the Amur tiger species. Zoologists in the Minnesota Zoo are working hard to bring back the Amur tiger species.
