A hurricane warning was issued for the Tropical Storm Helene on Tuesday. The storm formed over the Caribbean Sea and is heading towards the Gulf in a whirl of winds and rain.
Tropical Storm Helene, also known previously as Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine. According to the National Hurricane Center in an 11:00 am advisory, the storm officially formed on Tuesday, September 24. Authorities are urging people to prepare for the upcoming storm.
According to NBC News, “At 2 p.m. ET the weather system was about 175 miles east, southeast of Cozumel, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph.
According to the National Hurricane Center, it’s moving northwest at 12 mph.”
Hurricane watches are now issued for the Florida Coast, the full force of the hurricane is predicted to hit the northern areas. Palm Beach County will only be hit by the storms on the outskirts of the hurricane.
