The lunch ladies and school facility have decided to add new items to the school lunch menu for Hispanic Heritage Month.
Hispanic Heritage was originally created to last a week, but in 1988, it was expanded to a month and is now celebrated from September 15 to October 15. This festivity is recognized in multiple other countries such as Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, etc.
In commemoration of this, our school has added new menu items. Each item is rooted in various Hispanic countries and cultures. Some of these items include Chili Verde Chicken Bites, Pollo con Queso with Tortilla Chips, Arepa con Carnitas, and Chicken & Cheese Empanadas. This allows students to experience food from various cultures and countries globally.
Feel free to check these yummy items out next time you visit the cafeteria for lunch!
