The Fall season has started, so here is a cute and easy Halloween cupcake recipe.
The ingredients for the cupcakes are water, unsalted butter, cocoa powder, espresso powder, salt, baking soda, vanilla extract, sugar, sour cream, eggs, and all-purpose flour.
Preheat the oven to 350 F and line two muffin tins. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt and set it aside. Whisk together cocoa powder and espresso, then pour in boiling water. Mix until smooth and cool to room temperature. Mix in sour cream and vanilla and set aside.
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy and mix in eggs one at a time beating well after adding each one. Alternate adding flour mixture and chocolate mixture and mix until combined.
Transfer batter to prepared pan (this recipe makes 20 cupcakes). Bake cupcakes for 18 to 22 minutes. Cool cupcakes in pan for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Use buttercream frosting, melted chocolate, and sprinkles to decorate the cupcakes.
