Sharing is caring, correct? Not when it comes to food! Students shouldn’t share food in school for numerous reasons. Something that is hard to know about is allergies that other people have. Some students are allergic to things such as dairy, nuts, certain fruits, or specific vegetables. There are also ingredients in foods you may not be aware of, such as gluten. By not sharing food we can avoid allergic reactions from foods that can make people sick.Â
Another reason students should avoid sharing food is germs. Students could have viruses or other illnesses, and if you eat their food you could contract their virus. Also, some people are not as hygienic as you may be. Hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer are important. You do not want to eat food from someone who may not have properly washed their hands.Â
Overall, it is a much better option to just keep your food to yourself and if someone is hungry, direct them to the cafeteria where they serve free breakfast and lunch! By doing this everyone stays safe from unknown allergies, viruses, and other germs!
