On November 25–29 there will be no school for students in Palm Beach County. We will be out of school for nine days, including the weekend. It will give us a break before State testing and Midterms, which will start in the beginning of December. Many people use this break to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is a great occasion to spend time with your family and friends. Allowing people to gather around and talk to each other with no excuses. Thanksgiving originated in 1621, with a feast between the English colonists and the Wampanoag people. During this feast the Wamoanoag welcomed their guests with food from their harvest, it was a very kind gesture and now is celebrated many years later.
The holiday is now very popular around many families across the world, it is a great symbol of gratitude and giving. Sometimes we just need to take a break from school and our lives, enjoy the company of others, eat delicious food, and just be grateful for what we have.
