Quincy Jones was known for making jazz, funk, soundtracks, syrupy R&B, and chart-topping soundtracks in the 1950s. Throughout Quincy Jones’s career, he’s won multiple honorary awards including the Grammy Legend Award in 1992, the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres award in 2014, and many other awards at other times.
Quincy Jones was born on March 13th, 1933 on the South Side of Chicago with his younger brother Lloyd, who grew up in gang-riddled Great Depression Chicago. Even though Quincy Jones had a rough start and a share of problems, he made the most of his life and will be missed dearly by many.
