A new CEO, as well as new menu items has been added to the Red Lobster franchise. After filing for bankruptcy, Red Lobster has taken a hit in sales. In order to come from this, they had to make some changes.
To draw in younger customers they are adding more lighting and even music, to make this restaurant more welcoming. Apparently, over the years, past customers have slowly been drifting away from the destination. The new CEO (who is only 35 years old) was hired in order to bring millennials back to the industry. This allows a broader audience and more business.
On a less cheerful note, according to the CEO, “endless shrimp is never coming back.” Along with this, there was a 20% decrease in menu items, giving you minimal options when ordering. In replacement of those, new items will be added, such as bacon-wrapped sea scallops, lobster bisque, and some new pasta dishes.
