Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a tradition in many households, including mine. One of the most exciting parts of the parade is the floats. This year, there will be 34 floats and 22 giant balloons. Snoopy has been the longest-running balloon in the Thanksgiving Day parade since his debut in 1968.
This year there will be about 6 new floats including Candy Cosmos by Haribo.
Dora’s Fantastical Rainforest by Nickelodeon & Paramount, Magic Meets the Seas by Disney Cruise Line, Pasta Knight by Rao’s Homemade, Masterfeast by Netflix, and Wondrous World of Wildlife by Bronx Zoo. These 6 new floats are very exciting for the 2024 parade.
The end is the most exciting part for most kids because they get to see Santa! Santa has been a part of the parade since its debut in 1924.
Although this year would technically be the 100th anniversary of the Thanksgiving Day parade, 2026 will be the 100th anniversary. Due to World War 2, the parade was put on hold for three years due to the lack of helium and rubber needed to support the war effort.
