In Melbourne, Australia over 100 poisonous snakes were removed from a man’s Sydney backyard. These poisonous snakes are called red-bellied black snakes. Some of these snakes were pregnant and when they pulled them out of the mulch there were 102 pregnant and newborn snakes. Pregnant red-bellies pile on top of each other before they give birth.
Dan Stein, the man whose backyard had the snakes called Reptile Relocation to come remove them after he saw 6 snakes slithering around. While two snakes were in the bag, they gave birth to 29 baby snakes. The final tally was 5 adult snakes and 97 newborn snakes.Â
This amount of snakes is very rare to capture in one place at a time. Most of the world’s most venomous snakes are native to Australia. The 102 poisonous snakes have been released into a national park.        Â
