Over the course of 2022-2025, our school has switched many times from using Kahoot to using Blooket to using Quizizz and Gimkit predominantly. These changes have been felt almost every school year.
Through 2022-2023, a switch from Kahoot to Blooket was done as Blooket blew up in popularity around this time nationwide. Before this though, Kahoot was effectively the only game-based learning website of its time until Blooket came around.
By the 2023-2024 year, Blooket had become the main game-based learning platform, overriding blooket almost entirely. Most students here claim that the last time they played Kahoot was sometime during the 2022-2023 or 2023-2024 school years.
Overtime during this school year, though, Blooket seems to have lost its touch in some classes. With Quizizz or Gimkit becoming the preferred game for these classes.
Amongst a good portion of teachers such as Ms. Safford and others, Quizizz has become the preferred game over Blooket and Kahoot. This has left Blooket and especially Kahoot as possibly being now left in the shadow of Quizizz and Gimkit.
