When people hear the name “Cheerleading” they usually think of pom-poms and chanting your school’s name, but what they don’t think about is the other side of cheerleading. There are 2 types of cheerleading, all-star cheerleading and sideline cheerleading.
Sideline cheerleading consists of stunts, jumps, saying different cheers, and crowd leading. All-star cheerleading consists of tumbling, stunts, pyramids, dance, jumps, and more. Allstar cheerleading is where you get a routine that can be 1:30-2:30 minutes long and has a sequence of events without any breaks.
Allstar cheerleaders are placed into divisions, based on their age, the size of their team, and what they are able to do. On the other hand, sideline cheerleaders don’t need to have much tumbling, jumps, or that high of an ability level, and they can have people of all ages and skill levels on their team. Allstar cheerleading and Sideline cheerleading are different in many ways.
