Wreckage of an over 130 year old ship has been found by explorers in the depths of Lake Superior, located in central North America.
This ship, known as the Western Reserve, set sail 20 years before the Titanic was created. The build of the boat was made to be very fast, and was supposed to be one of the safest ships.
The owner of the boat, Peter Minch, was so proud of it that he took his wife and kids on a ride in the summer of 1892. Unfortunately, on this ride, there was a terrible storm. The storm completely destroyed the ship, killing the Minch family and splitting the ship in half. The only survivor was the wheelman, Harry W. Stewart, who swam over a mile to reach shore after his life boat collapsed.
For over 130 years, the lake has hidden the remains of the Western Revere in 600 feet deep water. It was finally discovered this past March.
