This week of 4/7-4/11, it is Assistant Principal Week. Here at WLMS, we have three assistant principals. Dr. Taylor, Mr. Fill, Carla Lewis, and Ms. Foster. Many people know our assistant principals for monitoring the lunches, however, they do a lot more behind the scenes. Assistant Principals mainly help the principal with various things throughout the day, such as overseeing student behavior. You may often see the assistant principal overseeing lunches and making sure everyone behaves. They also manage school supplies. Some assistant principals may order materials for the school.
They also evaluate school staff. This is why you may see assistant principals in your classroom. They do this so they can see teachers’ teaching methods and assess the effectiveness of it. Whenever the principal is not at school, they take the principals place and make sure that everything runs smoothly. Overall, assistant principal do a lot of work for our school and we should be sure to appreciate them.Â
