Every student counts down the days until the last day of school, waiting for when they can start their 2 month long summer break. The last day of school this year is May 30th, 2025.
However, the Monday of that week (May 26th) is Memorial Day, meaning that school is closed. Unfortunately, we have to go back to school after that Monday to finish up the school week. Since there is no school on Monday, the last day of school should be the Friday before that, May 23rd.
If there already isn’t school on Monday, why should we go back for four short more days? What else could their be to learn the last four days of school? Most likely, teachers will not have any major lesson plans to teach their students, so they will just assign fun activities for their pupils to complete.Â
In addition, some students may skip the last days of school to start their summer early, knowing that their teachers will not have any assignments ready for them. Parents may actually plan their vacations that week, also knowing that their children will not be doing anything important.
