On Thursday, 4/17/25, a student was messing with a bee hive by throwing objects at it. The student then threw a stick at the beehive causing the bees to become angry and started to attack kids at the gym. As the bees were terrorising the students with stings on the arms, legs, fingers, body, face and head, many students fortunately did not get stung.
Many students had very bad reactions with the bee stings. Those reactions were rashes, nausea, headaches, burning sensation from the sting and allergic reactions. Many of the students that were stung went to the nurse and some even went home. The bee attack was so bad that the gym field had to be closed and surrounded by caution tape.
Because of this, the gym field was closed for the day. The beehive was taken away from the gym field and the gym was reopened again on 4/21/25.
