Alysa Liu, a 19-year-old, is coming back into the figure skating world. Alysa is a world Champion, and after her two-year retirement, she is coming back even stronger.
In 2022, Alysa decided to retire from ice skating to live a more “normal” teenage life and to look into other interests other than ice skating. But apart from that, she also wanted to focus on her well-being since she felt pressured into constantly performing well.
She is still training with her former coach, Phillip DiGuglielmo, and Massimo Scali. Her coach, Phillip, tried to discourage Alysa from coming back due to her commitment and since she’s in college. But Alysa explained why she wanted to come back and explained that she’s not like she was before, and even stronger. One of her famous quotes from her comeback is “Skating is my skating now.”
