Many schools in the Palm Beach County School District are using the Ron Clarke Academy House System. There are 6 Houses in our school community: Isibindi, Nukumori, Revuer, Amistad, Altuirismo, and Sollevare. Many people argue about which house is the best, but is there really a best house?
Here at WLMS we also use a house system, and students often argue about which house is better, but we shouldn’t be. We should be cheering on other houses, encouraging, and uplifting others to do good deeds, because that is one way you could earn a house point.
Students are also discussing how the other houses are and how bad some of them are, or how good a house is, but in reality, there isn’t a best house. The house system wasn’t made to trash-talk and to compete; it is just a system for students to uplift others and do the right thing, and why do we argue when we are just a community competing in a friendly house tournament?Â
The house system is not meant to separate us into teams and trash-talk and talk about others. No, the house system is meant to unite as one community. Even if we are in different houses or have different interests, we are all united by the house system.
