7th-grade actress Luciana is playing the lead role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid JR. Play. Luciana began her involvement in acting and drama clubs in fifth grade, and this is her first-ever live performance.
Her favorite scene to perform is when she enters Ursula’s layer when Ursula is singing “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” as it changes the dynamic of the play, and she handles stage fright by thinking that there is no one else in the room.
The most challenging part of performing live theater for Luciana is when she is singing a part in her role with higher-pitched notes, you can not redo any mistakes made. What drew Luciana to that particular role was that even before she started performing, she loved to sing one particular song from The Little Mermaid Witch was “Part of Your World”, which is also her favorite karaoke song.
