Following her newest album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, Lana Del Rey takes to stages worldwide. On September 23rd, West Palm Beach was lucky to see her perform.
The opening singer was indie artist Zella Day, who played with an all-girl group containing a bassist and drummer. Day is from Arizona and is now based in LA.
The album, Did You Know for short, contains 14 songs and two interludes. However, Lana only sings about three of them on tour (A&W, The Grants, and Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd), with the others being older songs of hers like Ultraviolence, Pretty When You Cry, and Summertime Sadness.
Her backup dancers accompanied her with every song, and her backup singers even had lots of moments of their own, especially during The Grants. A lovely moment was when everyone ballroom danced to Lana’s cover of Stand by Your Man by Patsy Cline.
The night was beautiful with light shows, hair ribbons, and merch galore, especially when we learned that Lana’s dad also lived here by the Everglades. The only thing terrible was the traffic afterward!
