As most people online are aware, the app, TikTok, may be banned on January 19th, 2025. In the past, people online have been spreading rumors that TikTok will be banned. However, the government has officially confirmed that it may be banned. As a result, many TikTokers have moved on to the platform, Xiaohongshu. To fight the ban, TikTok sued the Federal Government, saying that banning TikTok was unconstitutional, and denied people their right to Freedom of Speech.

However, after President Donald Trump was interviewed, a reporter asked If they were going to ban TikTok. Trump said, “We’ll take a look at TikTok.” He continued to say that he had a warm place in his heart for the app. Recently, Sen. Ed Markey wanted to introduce a delay of 270 days so they could potentially save TikTok. According to Forbes Newspaper, the Biden Administration is trying to find ways to work around the ban. Many influencers have now begun to panic, and have started sharing their other platforms. Influencers are also scared of the ban because TikTok is their only source of income.
