Q. What first got you interested in being a teacher?

A. Teaching is my second career (was in the financial services industry in New York). When I moved to Florida, my children were 4 and 1. Once my daughter started kindergarten, I started working at her elementary school as teacher assistant, bookkeeper, and media clerk. When I moved to middle school as a media clerk, the media specialist suggested I send my paperwork to the district to see what I needed to become a teacher. Went to PBCC part time for 2 years, got my certification, and the rest is history!

Q. Have you taught any other subjects?

A. No, I’ve always taught math.

Q. How long have you been teaching for?

A. This is my 17th year of teaching.

Q. Do you enjoy teaching math? What is your favorite part about teaching?

A. I love teaching math. I enjoy watching my students use their strategies to answer questions. My favorite part of teaching is when a student “gets it”. That knowledge gives them the confidence to move to the next challenge.

Q. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

A.Number one is spending time with my granddaughters, Liliana and Ella. I also love going to the beach and walking along the water. I love getting together with friends.
