Dorothy Hoffner was a renowned skydiver trying to be remembered for something.

On October 1st of 2023, she jumped from 13,500 feet into the Chicago area. “The associates at Brookdale Lake View are deeply saddened by the passing of our resident, Dorothy Hoffner”. Said the retirement home where she had been living prior to her death.  She had broken the record just the month before, just beating the previous record of 103, set by Linnéa Ingegärd Larsson of Sweden.

Guinness is still said to be confirming whether she truly broke the record or not. According to Brookdale Lake View, “she lived with purpose and passion, proving that age is just a number.” Dorothy Hoffner passed away in early November.

Her bravery is a symbol of an adventurous heart doing what she has always wanted to do, breaking a record in the process.
