What better way to remember an NBA star than to create a statue of him?

A statue of Kobe Bryant was unveiled on February 8, 2024. It is 19 feet tall and a whopping 4,000 pounds. It is one of the three Kobe statues that were displayed outside the Crypto.com Arena.

A little over four years ago, Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna were killed in a helicopter crash along with seven others on board. They were on their way to California for his daughter’s basketball game, which Kobe was supposed to coach. He has still been remembered ever since.

Whispers had been going back and forth before the statue was revealed. The Lakers had to keep it a secret the whole time.

Many kids and adults looked up to Bryant’s impact on basketball. Even though Kobe Bryant is no longer with us today, his legacy and impression on the Lakers and the NBA will always be remembered.
