Pizza Hut recently announced that in 2026 they have plans to close down hundreds of restaurants in the United States. Brands chief financial officer Ranjith Roy first said, “targeted closures of underperforming units” while he discussed the companies financial performance.
Then he later shared the idea that about 250 Pizza Hut locations in the United States will be closed for the first half of 2026. He also did not share the list of restaurants the company is planning to close.
The CEO also said, “We have confidence in our Pizza Hut team and the steps they are taking to help set expectations on key Pizza Hut metrics for 2026”. And, “In the first half of 2026 we expect approximately 250 targeted closures of underperforming units tied to the Huts forward program.” During a call session Roy said that one of the reporters questioning the total amount of restaurant closures and whether the company plans to release additional locations.
