Lizards are very cool. Despite how they might be to some due to their scales and them being small four legged creatures, there are some interesting things about them that make them unique and that can stand out.

The basilisk lizard is able to run on water. Allowing them to evade predators that may try and eat them. These lizards are native to Mexico and Central America.

The komodo dragon is the largest lizard on Earth. They’re predators with a venomous bite, in fact where they’re from, Indonesia, they are apex predators. They use camouflage to hide and catch prey.

The frilled lizard, or frilled-neck lizard, is a lizard that, by its namesake, has a frill on its neck. It uses this frill when threatened to make them appear bigger to predators and scare them off. Not only that but if it fails they can run bipedally or on two legs, this running is in a bicycle motion giving them the nickname of the “bicycle lizard” and they can run as fast as 30 miles per hour.

With all this considered this is why I believe that lizards are a very cool species of reptile. The different unique characteristics of these lizards to let them survive are very interesting to look at and even more so to be lucky enough to witness it in real time.
