As many cases of measles are growing more caution is being taken in various schools in Mexico state. One of the many precautions is wearing face masks and also having more health screenings. Others are that the students temperatures will be taken as soon as they enter the school.
The announcement first started in the western part of Jalisco state, it was the country’s largest outbreak. Masks are now REQUIRED in the schools in the capital of Guadalajara; the second largest city in Mexico. Jalisco has the most confirmed cases.
During February 6th there were over 2,000 cases confirmed for measles nationwide and about 6,000 cases still suspected. According to AP news “Officials traced that outbreak that began in March 2025 to an 8-year-old unvaccinated Mennonite boy who visited his relatives in Seminole, Texas” Seminole, Texas was the center of the U.S. outbreak.
