In 2024, an art collector, Christian Levett, opened Europe’s first museum dedicated to women abstract artists in a small town in the south of France. But for those who can’t make their way to the Female Artists of the Mougins Museum, he has arranged an alternative, a touring exhibition about women abstract artists featuring some of the highlights of the FAMM (A museum featuring female abstract art pieces) collection.
“A lot of these are important pictures, and the wider public should be able to see them,” Levett said. “And the touring exhibition is the best way right now in the United States to see the major female painters, and help them earn recognition, all in one show.” Christian created this show to help demonstrate the amazing abstract art that women have made and to help them earn recognition in the United States and made it so people don’t have to travel the world to see art pieces.
