Disney has named Josh D’Amario to be its next CEO after Bob Igar, set to be true March 18.
Josh D’Amario has had experience working in Disney. Having overseen parks, cruises, as well as resorts since 2020.
This decision seems to have been carefully made. Likely due to the previous successor to Bob Igar, Bob Chapek, who had been fired not even 3 years after being given the position. His firing due to loss in income, leadership, and bad business along with a few other reasons.
Not only that but Disney has decided to make the decision to make a new role of “Co-CEO”. With the position being given to Dana Walden when Josh D’Amario becomes CEO.
Remarks given by Gorman, Chairman of the board of directors are, “Throughout this search process, Josh has demonstrated a strong vision for the company’s future and a deep understanding of the creative spirit that makes Disney unique in an ever-changing marketplace.”
Hopefully Josh D’Amario can live up to the expectations and prove himself to be a great new CEO.
