A24’s Backrooms movie, directed by Kane Parsons, is set for release on May 29, 2026. The horror film, based on the popular found-footage internet series, stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsive, a trailer for the movie was recently released in March 2026. The film further expands on the internet lore where people “noclip” out of reality into a maze of empty, yellow office rooms.

 The trailer suggests it involves a mysterious doorway in a sketchy furniture showroom. After the trailer that was recently shown fans are highly anticipated for the new movie and the outcome of it.

 The movie is 105 minutes long (1 hour and 45 minutes )  and follows a terrifying 1990s scene. The film features Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinave, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, Lukita Maxwell, and Avan Jogia. For the production timeline filming happened in Vancouver during the summer of 2025. The movie is still in active development but will be released very soon.
