On Tuesday, April 21st, the Wellington Landings boys volleyball team lost 2-1 against the Polo Park Stallions in a close, exciting match. The Gators won the first set, while the Stallions won the last 2 sets, the last set being won by only 2 points, ending 18-16 in favour of Polo Park.
Chase H. is an 8th grader, and a key player for Wellington Landings. He wears the number 17.
Q: This game was very close. Do you think this was because of some Landings errors or just good play from Polo Park?
A: It was very good play from Polo. I think our communication was off.
Q: In the second set, Polo Park dominated more than the first. What do you think was the reason?
A: Last game we beat Polo pretty good, and we just came with like “we’re going to beat them.” And they just hit us really well.
Q: What did you think the team lacked to win today?
A: We needed more communication, to know where the ball was going.
Q: What do you think the team will have to do differently to be ready for the match against Tradewinds on Thursday?
A: I think when we get to Tradewinds, our back row needs to be a little better.
Q: What would be the team that you would like to play the most in the finals?
A: Polo [Park]
