On March 5, 2024, there was an Outage on sites like Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Twitter or X. People reported being locked out of their accounts on these websites.
Head communicators said they would work their hardest to solve this issue on their sites. But even after hours these websites still weren’t fixed. After a couple more hours things were looking up, and apps began refreshing.
A senior official with the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency told reporters that people were not aware of this outage but are working and solving this bug.
Social Sites are back on March 6, 2024, and people’s logins are restored. However, this isn’t the only time an incident like this has happened. In 2021 Instagram, Facebook, and others had another outage for some hours, the next year WhatsApp had another brief outage. Thankfully all these widespread outages have been fixed.
